Cereals: The Arable Event

Agritech Innovations on Display at UK’s Leading Technical Event

13-Jun-2017 by: Farm491

Agritech incubation and enterprise hub, Farm491, joins the UK’s leading technical event to showcase its members’ technological solutions, which are set to benefit the wider food and farming industries.

Cereals Event is a fantastic opportunity for the thinkers, innovators and those actively working the land to meet colleagues, prospects, suppliers and to do vital business. From robots to genetics, visitors have chance to gain insight into the future of farming. It will offer a glimpse of how technology has the potential to influence arable farming in the next 5-10 years.

A selection of members will be joining the Farm491 team on stand 837, highlighting the diversity of innovation and entrepreneurship taking place at the enterprise hub at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) in Cirencester. This will include Landapp, an online design tool for land management, Petiole, a mobile solution in precision/GMO agriculture and Dan Robinson from Farm-r who has developed a digital platform for machinery trading. The innovators will also be joined by member Multibox, the first company in the UK seeking to produce insects on a commercial scale for the animal feed, fertiliser, and medical industries. The final member to join the line-up will be DiAgrii who has developed a smart monitoring solution for livestock – tracking and detailing animal location, speed of movement and providing vital information on animal health and well-being.

Interest in Farm491 has been remarkable since the hub opened in 2016. The hub has established itself as a vibrant collaborative agritech community, a place where innovators convert their ideas into reality. By providing working space, workshops and expert advice Farm491 helps start-ups move effectively to scale ups. On the 30th June, with the help of Countryfile Presenter Adam Henson, Farm491 officially opens the doors to its five workshop spaces at its Harnhill site. Already taking residents, these workshops offer affordable and durable working environments aimed to assist agritech innovators grow their businesses, while putting their products to the test. In addition to all the other benefits of Farm491 membership the workshops offer a business address in secure, self-contained units with power, water, high speed internet, wi-fi, collaborative working space and free parking.
