Micromix is using Cereals 2025 to demonstrate how biostimulants- when combined with balanced nutrition - can boost crop health and input efficiency, especially during one of the driest springs in recent years.

Replicated plots of wheat, maize, and sugar beet will highlight performance under real-world conditions.

In wheat trials, comparisons include untreated plots, standard fungicide programs, fungicides combined with biostimulants, and biostimulants alone.
“Where our products are used, crops are clearly more vigorous, two to three inches taller and visibly healthier,” says agronomist Andrew Kealey.

He notes that biostimulants reduce disease pressure and enhance fungicide uptake, enabling reduced rates. “At T1, we’ve seen great results for as little as £12/acre using Bioplex with base fungicides.”

Despite ongoing scepticism from some growers, Mr Kealey believes the benefits are clear. “Especially in a stressed season like this, the differences are obvious. These products work, particularly when applied little and often at key stages.”

With yellow rust pressure high this season, he stresses the importance of resilient, well-fed crops. “Yield is still the bottom line. Biostimulants and foliar fertilisers aren’t a luxury anymore—they’re essential.”
