Crop Plot Showcase: Yara

Yara is bringing crop nutrition to life with four live demonstration plots highlighting the impact of advanced nutrient strategies on winter wheat and spring barley.
The winter wheat demonstration includes two side-by-side plots: one using a conventional baseline approach, and the other following Yara’s Best Practice Nutrition Plan. This consists of the YaraVita Crop Boost, a foliar phosphate formulation that promotes strong early root establishment, which is particularly valuable in this season’s dry conditions. At T1, the program includes YaraVita Gramitrel, delivering essential micronutrients such as manganese, copper, zinc, and magnesium, all vital for plant enzyme function, chlorophyll production, and plant vigour.
Also featured is YaraAmplix Optitrac, a biostimulant combining boron, zinc, potassium, nitrogen, and bioactive compounds like amino acids. These enhance plant metabolic efficiency and help crops tolerate drought and temperature fluctuations. “We expect these plots to remain greener for longer, especially if dry weather continues,” said Yara’s Joe Blanche.
In the spring barley plots, nitrogen input is equal across treatments, but only one receives added micronutrients and biostimulants. This allows growers to see the visible difference balanced nutrition makes beyond nitrogen alone.
Final yield results will come at harvest, but visual distinctions are expected to be clear by show day.
