MASTENBROEK TO SHOWCASE THE LATEST LAND FORMING TECH AT CEREALS

Mastenbroek will showcase the latest in land forming technology at this year’s Cereals event (11 – 12 June, Heath Farm, Leadenham, Lincolnshire).

Visitors to stand 513 will be able to see PTx Trimble’s WM-FieldForm, its next-generation water solution for complex land forming, grading and levelling projects.

PTx Trimble says the system promises improved crop yields by up to 30%, as WM-FieldForm enhances land-forming capabilities to control water movement into, out of, and within fields.

WM-FieldForm provides single-scraper control for forming field surfaces into optimal shapes. It is the first water management system to leverage the Precision-IQ field application in the powerful GFX-1260 display, allowing improved visualisation and faster auto-design features. The NAV-900 guidance controller enables additional enhancements for improved GNSS accuracy and uptime.

Mastenbroek has worked closely with Trimble for many years, and in 2010, the two companies developed a new GPS system for drainage trenchers.

“We have been at the forefront of designing and manufacturing agricultural drainage trenchers for 60 years and have always looked to incorporate the latest innovations into our machines, whether that be mechanical, electrical or software,” says Fred Clarke, Mastenbroek’s Technical Director. “In the last five years or so, we have seen the benefits that land forming can deliver, and it is something that is increasingly being utilised by British contractors and farmers looking to maximise yields. The new WM-FieldForm system takes things one step further.”

In addition to scraper control, contractors using WM-FieldForm can create topographic surveys of fields using high-precision RTK measurements, with capabilities to create boundaries, interior points, and calculations to report the actual acreage of survey areas using tools like the WM-Survey II™ app. Survey data can then be imported into WM-Form® design software to create optimised field surface drainage designs. Alternatively, survey data can remain with WM-FieldForm in the display to create best-fit surface designs using Autoplane technology.

WM-FieldForm integrates with the GFX-1260 display and the NAV-900 guidance controller, making it easily retrofittable. Contractors simply need to add an NAV-900 and hydraulic machine controls to a bucket scraper.
