Sands Sprayers have been involved in the application of agrochemicals since the 1960s and have been designing and building self-propelled crop sprayers since 1975. This enables them to produce high specification machines to satisfy the demands of today’s farmers and growers.
The latest Horizon range of self-propelled crop sprayers has been designed to offermaximum in-field performance with the highest level of operator comfort. Available in5 common model sizes, these advanced sprayers have been developed in houseby Sands and have incorporated numerous ‘operator’ led features. This has made theHorizon a true drivers’ machine, with the impressive cab layout allowing for long daysspraying without excessive fatigue.
Horizon range from a 3000 – 6000 Litres:
For growers who require a small compact, economical self-propelled sprayer the 3000 litre capacity Horizon offers the user high in field performance without the excessive weight of other similar capacity machines. The in-cab controls are analogue to maintain a cost effective package and fitted with the same high quality cab as the rest of the models in the range and utilises the 2” manual plumbing system and when fitted with a 24m boom unladen weight is a class leading 7.5t. This enables the machine to travel with lower ground pressure in more challenging seasons. On Rowcrops wheels, underbelly clearance is a minimum 1000mm reducing crop damage and aiding visibility in tall crops. Front Dynamic Boosted brakes are now a standard feature giving improved stopping performance on the road at high speed and extra security when working in steep fields with an optional foot brake. There is a substantial list of extra’s that can be fitted to customers requirement. This model is fitted with a Deutz Tier 5 final engine with 188hp and all functions can be used whilst at tick over due to the load sensed hydraulics fitted to all Horizon models.
We can also offer a 3500 litre machine with the same options as our 3000 machine and this is mounted on a 4000 litre chassis to accommodate the tank and a Variable Geometry boom up to 30M.
The 4000 litre Horizon sprayers, whilst still being a small compact sprayer can carry up to a 36M Variable Geometry boom and houses a Deutz Tier 5 final engine with 214hp.
5500 Litre & 6000 Litre machines are fitted with a Deutz Tier 5 final engine with 242hp.
4000, 5500 & 6000 models are fitted with the very high specification Catergory 4 cab which is designed and built specifically for use on our range of sprayer and been manufactured to give the best visibility and comfort of the highest standards. A central rear pillar allows uninterrupted vision to the booms and the interior has a quality and plushness not seen before on a self-propelled British crop sprayer. The cab also comes standard with Grammer’s high back air seat, removable cool box and 8 x HID lights for night time spraying. These 3 models also have standard boosted braking with an emergency foot brake. Whilst travelling at high speeds these brakes give you a reduced stopping distance when travelling at high speeds. An in-field cruise control function is a standard feature in the 5500, 6000 models ensuring a more constant spraying speed and thus a more uniform spray quality.
These models can carry from a 24M boom up to a 36M VG boom with positive and negative booms and finally the option of having “e-Taps” fitted which is 3” plumbing to help filling the sprayer via a external and in cab screen. This is very accurate and can also control the 3” hydraulic fast fill pump when filling up at 1000l/m.
