With the focus on carbon farming, there is a lot of focus on winter cover cropping followed by spring break crops and especially on nitrogen-fixing crops.  One of the most effective ways a farmer can de-carbonise their rotation, is to plant nitrogen-fixing crops in order to reduce the whole-farm purchasing of nitrogen fertilisers.
