Although the opportunities arising from the use of on-farm data are many and varied, including improving the economic, agronomic and environmental aspects of farming, concerns about how data is collected, stored and potentially shared is a significant block on uptake by farmers in the UK.  Professor Tina Barsby OBE will be taking this opportunity to launch a new, independent group that will survey current data governance in the industry both here and abroad, with a view to define what a gold standard in governance might look like.
