Prof Fergus Lyon
Fergus Lyon is a professor at Middlesex University Business School specialising in small businesses and sustainability, as well as being a farmer. His recent research projects have been on business and biodiversity, sustainability measurement and social enterprise. He is working with the Food Farming and Countryside Commission to understand natural capital opportunities in small and medium farms across the UK. As a farmer, Fergus is managing a medium sized mixed farm in Hertfordshire that was the first farm to be awarded B Corp accreditation in the UK. In this role he has been involved in a range of initiatives such as Jordan’s Farm Partnership, LEAF Marque, Fair to Nature, Countryside Stewardship, and is involved in developing trusted forms of payment for famers to sequester carbon.
