Jessica Spencer
Jessica is the fourth generation to join the Spencer family farming business at Spring Lane Farm in Nottinghamshire.
Their working mixed farm of 280 acres is home to 50 head of cattle, a small sheep flock, grassland, arable crops, potatoes, a farm shop and soon to be coffee shop restaurant.
Their farm shop turns over in excess of 2 million per annum and employs 30 local people. Spread over 300 square meters of retail space, Spring Lane Farm Shop offers a traditional carcass butchery, and in-house bakery, delicatessen, licenced alcohol and much more. The farm retail business also offers seasonal public events and educational experiences such as lamb bottle feeding.
Jessica studied an Honorary degree in Agri-Food Marketing with Business Studies at Harper Adams University before returning home to the family business full time in May 2020 with a passion to further diversify the business. Over the past 5 years Jessica has introduced on-farm educational visits, events, and is currently leading the new coffee shop restaurant building project.
Jessica is the current County Vice-Chairman for Nottinghamshire Young Farmers Clubs and the South Notts NFU Branch Chairman.
