Tom Clarke farms 1000ac in the Cambridgeshire fens near Ely. Before returning to the farm in 2009 he worked as a consultant advising businesses and government bodies on strategy and change. As a farmer he has embraced a nature-friendly approach alongside his neighbours and in more recent years has been elected to industry roles at NFU Sugar and AHDB Cereals and Oilseeds. He writes a regular opinion column in Farmers Guardian, and tweets too much - usually about farming and public policy. He currently has land in extended Higher Level Environmental Stewardship and land managed for wildlife outside any existing scheme.
